BLUE LAGOON

If you choose this package then you will go and explore the national parks around the volcano Rincon de la Vieja and the clear blue river, Rio Celeste. During these 4 days you will be accompanied by a guide.

DAY 1
Destination:
You drive to the National Park Tenorio with its dormant volcano Tenorio and the intense blue river, the Rio Celeste.

Stay:
You will stay at the impressive estate of a local family who will generously share their home with you. You sleep in a basic bungalow with a wonderful view over the estate. 

Activities:
In the morning you will go on a guided tour to an organic farm where Macadamia, cacao and vanilla are being produced. Here you will learn everything of the cultivation of these products. Afterwards you’ll enjoy a typical Tico lunch and spend the night at a local family home. Your host can tell you everything about rural life in Costa Rica.

DAY 2
Activities:
After breakfast you will go for a walk in the Tenorio National Park. The bright blue color of the Rio Celeste that flows through the park is caused by sulfate minerals and calcium carbonate. The locals however believe that the blue color of the Rio Celeste was created when God was painting the sky and washed his brushes in the river afterwards. Along the river you can find natural hot springs, which are perfect to relax. In the afternoon you will visit a traditional coffee plantation nearby.

DAY 3
Destination:
You will continue you trip to Rincon de la Vieja National Park, here you can find an active volcano and bubbling mud pools.

Stay:
You will stay with a local family again.

Activities:
Today you can visit the National Park Rincon de la Vieja a wonderful dry forest with a number of beautiful hiking tours. 

DAY 4
Activities:
You will explore the wonderful surroundings on horseback and meet the locals. Enjoy the beautiful nature and learn about the rural life.
