Originally a small fishermen's village, Santa Catalina is becoming more popular because of the surfers discovering the place. In addition, the town is the perfect starting point to go and visit the national park on the island of Coiba, also a breathtaking diving spot. 

Activiteiten

Beginners can go to Estero beach to catch their first waves, a 15 minute walk from the centre of town. The more experienced surfers best go to Punta Brava or Punta Roca. As mentioned, Isla Coiba is a great spot to dive and swim with whale sharks and manta rays. You can also always join the locals on a fishing tour.
