San Jose is the capital of Costa Rica, located in the Central Valley. The city centre is compact, and all the monuments and other sights are within walking distance from each other. When you either just arrived or are about to fly back home, a visit to the capital, at least for an afternoon, is recommended to get a taste of city life in Costa Rica.

You will stay in a nice, comfortable hotel close to the airport. Here you can relax and overcome a possible jetlag on your first day in Costa Rica, or prepare yourself while taking a dive and enjoying the delicious food, for the long flight home.
